The idea standing behind Twelve Moons Tribute to King Crimson project was to pay a homage to our masters and to allow people to enjoy the extraordinary and the only one Music of KC live (as most probably there won't be a chance to watch the Mighty Beast playing together again live and if it was then it may be almost impossible to get the tickets for the concert, and impossible at least in Europe).
Our aim was to prepare 20 compositions of KC (mostly from 80's & 90's) and we have just recently achieved our Aim. We also want to present the project to as wide audience as possible and plan a tour for September (due to the cancellation of our April tour because of the Polish president's plane crash in Smolensk on April 10th with almost 100 victims aboard and 8-day national mourning that followed it).
That was also one of the ways for the band to play in this special personnel as the guys from the rhythm section are full time self-unemployed musicians and it is hard for them to find a time to work on the new band's original music when they not only won't get paid and the risk of failure is ratively high while time necessary is not aplicable to measurement.
The next few months will show if on the base of us playing KC's music something valuable and original can be grown. We have got twice onto KC's official site (thank you Sid!), we got 350+ fans on Facebook (thank you to all of you sending good wishes) and few thousand streamings of our live clips on YouTube (around 1000 each).
I can feel an open opportunity for us and a potential that I dream to not to let down. But to succeed, many many things need to happen at the same time. And I don't think of a blind destiny (as I don't believe in something like this), but an equal input of each other of us and the same, clear Aim for all of us.
As my master, Robert Fripp says: 'It is a folly to expect an open door to remain open forever'.
Ideą całego przedsięwzięcia Tribute to KC było po piewsze primo złożenie hołdu naszym mistrzom a po drugie primo umożliwienie posłuchania nieprzeciętnej muzyki KC na żywo, której to okazji większość słuchaczy/fanów nie ma i raczej już nie będzie miała. Naszym celem było przygotowanie 20 kompozycji KC i cel ten osiągnęliśmy. Był to także sposób na to żeby zespół w tym składzie zafunkcjonował ponieważ sekcję rytmiczną tworzą ludzie utrzymujący się z grania i niezwykle trudno im wykroić czas, a tworzenie własnej (w dodatku wspólnej, bo inna mnie nie interesuje) muzyki to proces czasochłonny i jeszcze mniej się zarabia w ten sposób niż grając zarobkowo na codzień, nie wspominając o ryzyku klapy.
Najbliższy czas pokaże czy na fundamencie naszego wspólnego grania muzyki KC pojawi się coś nowego i wartościowego, a przede wszystkim własnego. Na razie narobiliśmy sporo hałasu, dwukrotnie napisali o nas na oficjalnej stronie KC, mamy ponad 350 fanów na Facebooku, kilka tysięcy oglądnięć clipow z koncertu na YouTube i ogromny potencjał, którego marzy mi się nie zmarnować. Ale do tego żeby się nam udało potrzeba bardzo wiele korzystnych zbiegów okoliczności. I nie mówię o tym w sensie losu, który za nas zadecyduje, bo w nic takiego nie wierzę lecz równie mocnego zaangażowania każdego z nas i wyznaczenie wspólnego celu dla całego zespołu.
